He writes his rap lyrics under the penname "JOKER". His style is hip-hop, and he likes to portray a cuddly personality that is at odds with his image. When KAT-TUN was first formed, as a backdancing group for KinKi Kids, Koki was against the idea of the group and wanted to quit. He voiced his objection by tearing off his own 'T' of the KAT-TUN badges the members were made to wear during performances.
